Olsenboye by Mary-Kate & Ashley

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have gone back to their fashion roots by re-creating an affordable fashion line for their adoring fans. The new line is named Olsenboye- 'Olsen' following their surnames and 'Boye' as a homage to their norweign ancestrial surnames, which is both fitting and meaningful.
The new line previewed on ABC News and will be exclusively stocked at J.C Penney and in their own words it is targeted at "tweens & teens", priced at between $20 and $50 a piece. It will be officially available in February 2010 and will feature a few key pieces including denim jeans and easy to wear plaid shirts that go beyond their target market and wearable by any age group.

Mary-Kate and Ashley hit the road in a customised truck in order to sell a few pieces from their preview collection where all proceeds go to charity. On the bus the sisters kept it fashionable as always wearing matching oversized coats. Ashley looked polished in her studded Prada T-bar heels and the infamous Chanel 5018 half-tint round sunglasses. Mary-Kate was eclectic in her Harem pants, platform booties; mismatched jewelry and the new must have Dior Diorette cat-eye sunglasses.
With three fashion lines including The Row, Elizabeth and James and now Olsenboye, these two never fail to impress me.
If you missed the Olsen Twins promoting their line on ABC News, then here is the link to it on Youtube.

Trick or Treat: Halloween 2009

Mr Bones Pumpkin Patch must be the new Ivy Resturant as celebs were seen flocking their with their kids & co for a photo opportunity. The Pumpkin Patch is the family friendly Halloween destination of choice for celebrities & their chlidren including David Beckham, David Boreanaz, Heidi Klum, Chris Noth, Christina Aguilera, Tori Spelling, Gwen Stefani, and Mark Walberg.

Never one to miss a photo op, Paris Hilton decided to go along wearing a beaded teal dress by Hale Bob, Christian Dior Glossy 1 oversized sunglasses, a Chanel Medallion and sky high heels. She looked odd among the sea of stylish young mums donning boots, satchel bags, oversized shirts and shades.

Just a mere few months after giving birth to her second child, Sparrow Madden, Nicole Richie was back to her pre-pregnancy body sporting Jet ripped blue jeans, BDG grey tank top, an oversized Anne Demeulemeester printed shirt and medium length Ugg boots in black. She accessorized with a black bowed fedora and Thierry Lasry Velvety sunglasses.

It's funny how far Miss Richie has come. Now a mother of two with a long term partner and a successful fashion business. Yeah sure, Paris has her own line of this and that, but her life just seems that little less meaningful as she goes back and forth doing the same thing shes been doing for the last 5 years.

Anyways back to Halloween festivities, Richie's fellow young mom, Christina Aguilera wore a trendy plaid shirt with thrashed grey skinny jeans and black combat boots. She accessorised with classic Prada spr 09L sunglasses in honey brown and an edgy Alexander Wang Max Denim Fanny Pack Bag.

It's nice to see Hollywood parents actually spend quality time with their tots before they going out and getting smashed at yet another Hollywood Halloween party.

Execute a Jumpsuit

It's no surprise that the jumpsuit dominated the trend list of 2009. Many of the hottest stars began by wearing the sleek 70's inspired piece at formal occasions. Rihanna donned an slimline Helmut Lang suit at the Inglorious Basterds premier. As usual she added her edgy touch with lace gloves, vintage wayfarer sunglasses and layers and layers of covetable pearls around her dainty neck.

For those of us that don't have premiers and openings to attend anytime soon, then the more relaxed jumpsuit works perfectly for casual everyday wear. Kate Bosworth went for a blue grey jumpsuit as a daytime alternative to black and styled it with a sleek bun and Tom Ford 'Cary' wayfarer sunglasses. The looser style looks perfect cinched at the waist with ballet flats and on trend designer sunglasses.

With every trend, we see new variations on the same style. Rachel Bilson, Leighton Meester and Sophia Bush wore youthful summer jumpsuits accentuated by bow, frill and floral details. For summer, the short jumpsuit works hand in hand with our active Australian lifestyle. It's a mixture of sexy, cute and practical-no panty flashing in sight!

Pleasantly Pregnant: Richie & Casta

There seems to be something lurking in Hollywood's water supply as many celebrities have been falling pregnant or giving birth recently. It may be the water or it may be another trend to see who stacks up the most amount of children in the shortest amount of time. Either way, Moms-to-be Nicole Richie and model Laetitia Casta seem to be blissfully enjoying their pregnancies as they proudly show off their burgeoning baby bumps while frolicking on the beaches of Malibu and Tuscany respectively.
Laetitia kept her beach look classic pairing a brown bikini with a pair of classic Chanel 5102 Sunglasses. While Nicole did what she does best-accessorise! Miss Richie wore a simple black boy-leg style bikini with a long purple printed headscarf. Never to be seen without her oversized sunglasses, she chose to wear a pair of Thierry Lasry Jalouzy 111 sunglasses in a scarf-clashing print of red, white and black.
Even though I'm a big fan of Nicole Richie's style, I prefer Laetitia Casta's simple style at the beach. Regardless, they make pregnancy look like a walk in the park as they frolic freely around the beautiful beaches.

Posh Trend: The Blazer & The Dress

When it's not quiet hot enough to wear a dress on it's own, what does a bony celebrity do in order to prevent goose bumps while wearing their itty bitty designer dresses? Put a chic blazer on of course. Recently many celebrities including socialites Olivia Palermo and Kim Kardashian have been taking the modest approach to dressing by wearing slim fitting blazers over cocktail dresses.
While where on the topic of socialites, Laguna Beach's Kristen Cavallari, along with Britain's finest Kate Moss have been pairing inexpensive yet awesomely printed Topshop summer dresses with classic black blazers. The look isn't revolutionary but it's definitely classy and makes wearing one dress twice as fun the second time around.

Victoria Beckham's New Sunglasses Collection

It may be odd to see Victoria Beckham in a pair of sunglasses that are not from her very own dVb sunglasses collection, but recently Victoria has been promoting English eyewear label, Cutler and Gross by wearing a stunning pair of Cutler and Gross 0811 sunglasses. Cutler and Gross have accepted to work along side Victoria in order to create a fresh new line of dVb sunglasses for her 2009-2010 eyewear collection.

Although Victoria Beckham constantly promotes her fashion collections which include denim jeans, sunglasses and fragrances, It has been reported that Mrs. Beckham's venture into the fashion arena hasn't lived up to the media hype that surrounds the launch of each collection. Although Victoria makes sure her superstar friends such as Eva Longoria, Kate Beckinsale, Katie Holmes, Heidi Klum, Nicole Richie and Jada Pinkett Smith are seen in her designs, sales have been lagging for months with retailers such as ShopBop and Kitson dropping her label.

Nevertheless, hopefully the new partnerships she has made for her sunglasses and denim label will help revive sales, even if it doesn't...it's not like the Beckham's need the money anyway right?
As for the Cutler and Gross 0811 sunglasses, Nicole Richie and Ashlee Simpson have both been seen in this pair previously, let's just hope Victoria doesn't rip off the style for her new collection simply by putting her logo on it.

Balmain Jeans worth the Green.

Balmain jeans have hit the fashion circuit like there's no tomorrow. Well, for some of you interested in a pair of the french fashion house's denim, there may be no tomorrow, as the jeans are flying off the rack at record speeds.
Christophe Decarnin's designs were first seen on Paris' fashion elite including Vogue's Fashion Director, Emmanuelle Alt, top model Natasha Poly and mini pop sensation Kylie Minogue. Now they've made their way across the pond and have been seen on the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Rihanna, Heidi Klum, Victoria Beckham, Ellen Pompeo, Nicole Richie and Kate Moss.

The appeal of Balmain jeans comes from their worn and torn "lived in" look which gives them that extra edge which designer Decarnin constantly aims for. However, the fact that these jeans are constantly sold out isn't the only reason they are so difficult to obtain. Some have scoffed at the US $2000 + price tag which might also act as a deterrent. No matter how you feel about this look and price tag, Balmain jeans are the hottest investment of 2009.

Victoria Beckham Top Fansite Shuts Down

One of the highest rated, most viewed and up to date Victoria Beckham blog is shutting down. The Blog owner, Vlada who also writes for other fashion websites has stated on her blog that she "fallen out of love with Victoria's style, which is the reason I fell in love with her so long ago. I can no longer support her, so it would be unfair to continue this blog."

This came as a shock to many, as this site would never say a bad word about Victoria no matter how bad her outfit, clothing collection or excessive behaviour is. Many comments on the site also stated that Victoria Beckham's move to the U.S has prompted her to act like a fashion victim, by making sure she has the biggest Hermes Bag collection, the most expensive Jackets and the most expensive celebrity fashion collection. Others said that everything she does seems to be calculated, fake and revolves around shopping, shopping and more shopping.

So while Victoria Beckham is going around shopping for more Hermes bags and trying to own the $10,000 Balmain jackets before anyone else, she is slowly loosing the fans she once had.

Posh Peepers: Nicole Richie

Miss Nicole Richie is known for her unique taste when it comes to sunglasses. The tiny starlet confessed to having over 200 pairs of sunglasses (and counting) in her collection, which include both designer and vintage frames. The most recent addition to her collection is a pair of Theirry Lasry 'Velvety' sunglasses.

Clearly her favourite new pair, these sunglasses feature a glossy black frame which can only be described as a hybrid between a cat-eye and wayfarer style.

Perhaps this will be the start of celebrities embracing the 1950's cat-eye trend that has been promoted by several eyewear designers including Pollini, Gucci, Oliver Peoples, Dita and Tom Ford over the past few seasons.

MET Costume Institute Gala 2009

That time of year is already upon us...you know, the one where fashion's finest faces wear their most exquisite couture dresses only to have them smelling like an ash tray by the end of the night from chain smoking sessions in the ladies loos. But by the looks of things, perhaps a cigarette burn or two would have done the dresses worn at the MET gala some good.
This year, the The Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York was a rather daring fashion affair. The theme, "Models and Muses" was definitely being overplayed by guests including supermodel Kate Moss who turned up hand in hand with designer Marc Jacobs. She wore an off the shoulder gold lame mini dress with matching turban head gear by Milliner, Stephen Jones. I actually liked this look a lot, it's 'Mumbai meets Manhattan'.
Ashley Olsen looked wore a draped creation by her own label, The Row. She looked sophisticated and gorgeous as always, but a lot less frisky than the others.

Her twin sister, Mary-Kate Olsen, kept her unique style in a Christian Lacroix sequin, tulle and lace dress. It was a pimped out Esmeralda, from Hunch Back of Notre Dame costume.
I'm sorry, but WTF is this? I'm all for following themes, but seriously WTF? Madonna looked like a haggard old mess in this Marc Jacobs concoction for Louis Vuitton-fashion victim at its finest.

Finally, a bunch of girls that looked decent at the event. Kate Hudson, Kate Bosworth, Liv Tyler and designer Stella McCartney arrived as a fabulous foursome. The girls played it really safe and sophisticated as they wore designs by Stella McCartney. Stella's lace jumpsuit was definitely a hit, she looks fabulously unique.
And now someone who's dying for me to stuff my two fucken dead finches in her hair. Tyra Banks wore a brutal Buzz cut style bun with a gorgeous black Badgley Mischka Couture fishtail gown and jewels by the designer.

Although Anne Hathaway's look was criticised, the disco-tec hair is super cute with yet another Marc Jacobs dress. She accessorised with Pour La Victoire shoes and Van Cleef and Arpels Camelia earrings.
Now back to the theme "Models and Muses", aren't models meant to look hot? If that's the case, then Eva Mendes definitely suited the part. This look has been seen a thousand times before, it's boring but it still works.

Finally, Rihanna. This is her first public appearance after the alleged assault by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. RiRi's gorgeous make-up was worn with a Dolce and Gabbana satin tuxedo featuring exaggerated 80's puffy shoulders. I hated it at first, but the more I look at it...wait...i still don't get it. Hey, but you allowed to have fun with your look right?
This years gala was tragic to say the least, it felt more like an advertisement for Marc Jacobs designs then anything else and according to Cathy Horn it is Marc Jacob's company "whose company is sponsoring the event", which also resulted in talented designers like Azzedine being exempt from the gala along with his muses Stephanie Seymour, Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista...and they reckon this was meant to be a "model and muses" theme...please...

Trend Alert: White Maxi Dress

With Summer on the way, Jeans are being pushed to the back of the closet while floaty dresses are making their entrance. Once again, pregnant Nicole Richie has led the bandwagon into wearing maxi dresses, and this time in bright white.

Nicole Richie was seen heading for a meeting wearing a sheer white Henley dress by L'Agence with round Oliver Goldsmith Goo Goo sunglasses and a Givenchy Nightingale Bag, oh and lets not forget the requisite Starbucks. Nicole Richie also amped up the hippie luxe with a white dress and a stack of accessories as she promoted her jewelry line House of Harlow.

Lindsay Lohan was looking frail as she shopped at sunglasses store Eye Candy. She picked up sunglasses by Oliver Peoples, Tom Ford, Ray Ban and many more while wearing a Vix Crochet maxi dress.

The irresistibly cute Kate Hudson was also seen wearing promoting this trend, by wearing a Lauren Moffatt 'Bottom of the Sea' white dress with a mini 'Miss Martini' handbag by Dolce and Gabbana.

Beach Style: Lindsay in Maui

Within a decade, Lindsay Lohan has gone from being a child star, to rising star to tabloid fodder. With a stage mum, psychotic dad and bitter ex-girlfriend to deal with, Lindsay's life is all a bit Bold and the Beautiful. And what better way to get away from the drama then jetting off to Maui, Hawaii?
Lindsay Lohan & Co, which included her sister Aliana, were seen wearing nothing more than itsy-bitsy bikinis and oversized sunglasses as they relaxed in the Hawaiian sun. LL was seen in numerous different bikinis in a short space of time, including a Vix Amalfi bikini in Navy Stripe.
Later on, she was seen maxing out her Black American Express credit card at the local Fendi Boutique. She was right on trend wearing PRPS denim cut off shorts in Splatterpop with a one piece monokini style swimsuit adorned with fringe detailing around the bust.
The one piece, monokini and cut-away swimsuit was seen all over the 2007 designer runways from Chanel to Hermes and now it's finally making a mark in mainstream fashion. LL is wearing this fringe LSpace 'One Love' Swimsuit with Diesel 0120 aviator sunglasses.
Lindsay also wore a black and white striped bikini top wit black bottoms in order to let her Pink Gucci Abbey tote bag stand out. She paired it with wayfarer sunglasses and a bottle of "fruit juice", probably mixed with Vicodin...i kid.

Posh Peepers: Ray Ban RB 3025 Metal Aviator Sunglasses

With a history dating back to 1937, Ray Ban aviators have pioneered the sunglasses industry like no other. First created for pilots flying in extreme weather conditions, ray ban aviators will provide you with the best quality eye protection at a reasonable price.

More than 60 years later, the classic Ray Ban RB 3025 aviator is taking over Hollywood's hottest faces. This particular pair is offered in numerous lens colors and our favourite celebrities are adding new colors to their collection every season. Jennifer Aniston, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Vanessa Hudgens have been experimenting with all the new colors available.
  • Jennifer Aniston wears: Gunmetal frame with gradient brown lens (color code: 004/51)
  • Lindsay Lohan wears: Gold frame with Gold mirror lens (color code: W3274)
  • Nicole Richie wears: Silver frame with light blue shaded lens (color code: 003/3F)
  • Vanessa Hudgens wears: Gold frame with Mirrored Pink and Gold shaded lens(color code:001/3E)
If your a "one pair of sunglasses type of person", then i suggest purchasing the Ray Ban 3025 aviator in the original Gold frame with grey green lens (color code:L0205). Everyone should have at least one pair of these sunglasses in their collection. It's a timeless style and works well with any outfit as demonstrated by Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie.

Another great thing about the Ray Ban aviator is that it can be worn by both men and women and still look equally fantastic. This unisex style has been seen on David Beckham, Zac Efron, Al Pacino, The Jonas Brothers, Vince Vaughn, Hugh Jackman, Billy Ray Cyrus, Brad Pitt and who can forget Tom Cruise?

Trend Alert: The Denim Jacket

Within the last two days, tabloid magnets, Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson have sported very similar looks.
Jessica Simpson was seen leaving L.A restaurant Katsuya on Thursday night. She draped her body in a wild (literally) print maxi dress covered in tigers, leopards, zebras...hey lets just settle for the entire animal kingdom. She paired this dress with a True Religion 'Jimmy' cropped denim jacket. The jacket was perhaps the most subtle of the outfit which also included a studded Lanvin Jet Set handbag and Christian Louboutin leopard print heels.
Seen leaving a hair salon earlier this week, the positively pregnant Nicole Richie wore a multicolored paisley print maxi dress to cover her baby bump. She pulled the look together with an up style knotted bun in her hair, sleek wayfarer sunglasses and a Paige Premium Denim Vermont Jacket in Westward wash. While Jessica Simpson opted for heels, Nicole kept it casual with Havaiana flip flops...or thongs as we like to call it Down Under ;)

Mary-Kate Olsen: The World through tinted Lenses

After months of hiding from the paparazzi lens, Mary-Kate Olsen has finally come out in all her quirky glory. I'm not going to lie, this week has got my panties in a pretty knot with the daily Mary-Kate Olsen watch. As we know by now, Mary-Kate is all about the "mix" when it comes to her personal style, mixing hot-out-of the atelier designer wear with vintage, second hand or high street finds.
One high street find that is reminist of pieces from the Fall 2008 Rodarte collection was an oversized Topshop knit sweater that M.K sported yesterday. Within a week M.K has also worn her Barbara Hulanicki Biba for Topshop Shirt on high rotation. She dressed it up with wedged heels and Ozzy Osbourne style sunglasses featuring a round frame with high impact blue lenses for a spot of shopping. Earlier in the week, she wore the same shirt, (as a dress- the adavantages of being short), with Ray Ban Clubmaster RB 3016 sunglasses and Carol Christian Poeller leather Boots.
She's been rocking a lot of new bags lately as well, including a brightly colored tote bags, a tan Proenza Schouler satchel bag and a bad ass Alexander Wang black leather studded bag. This exclusive bag was sported by Mary-Kate before it was even available to the general public or other celebrities for that matter.

Fashion Bite: Denim White

With Summer approaching for the other half of the world, what better way to welcome the sunshine than in a crisp pair of white jeans.

Whitney Port showed us that white isn't just reserved for summer's baby-doll dresses, teaming her white Work Custom jeans with a jester-style beaded sweater and black buckle boots.

Hilary Duff kept her white denim youthful with a Harlow Watercolor tank and a classic Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Speedy handbag.

Michelle Williams and her gorgeous daughter, Matilda, were out walking wearing matching cross-body satchel bags. Michelle smartened the look up with classic Ray Ban wayfarer sunglasses, crisp shirt and pastel pink ballet flats.

Vanessa Hudgens of High School Musical and nude photo scandal fame, is one of the new generation trendsetters. Always seen in the latest must-have she wore her light denim with her CC skye chain bracelets, Christian Louboutin Heels and a best-selling Botkier Morgan fringe bag.

Always one to make a statement that usually requires minimal clothing, Pamela Anderson has been bringing the fashion goods ever since she signed up as face of Vivienne Westwood. Miss ex-Tommy Lee/Kid Rock/Rick Salomon looked unusually put together in an all white ensemble with Prada Spr 17 IS sunglasses and a covetable Hermes Birkin Bag in White.

Wide legs: It's Jean-etic

This season 70's influences have seen us wearing oversized sunglasses, fringe boots and fur jackets. So it's no surprise that ankle swaying flare jeans have come back as the new direction in denim styles. Due to the fact that skinny jeans have had a good 5 years in the limelight, more and more celebrities are reverting back to the classic.
Recently Jessica Alba, Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton and Claudia Schiffer opted for dark flared jeans teamed with oversized sunglasses to give them that ultimate 70's look. While Nicole Richie, Katie Holmes and Miley Cyrus prefer casual light washes with extra slouch. Whether you prefer dark and dressed up or light and casual, it is definitely time to embrace the trend.

Posh Peepers: Gucci Studded Sunglasses

Gucci's most recent collection saw lanky models slithering down the runway in fringe, leather, velvet and stud detailed attire. It was a cross between the 70's carefree bohemian and the ultimate rock and roll groupie. This feel has been transferred to Gucci's new eyewear collection. Adornments including gold horse bits, metal bows and studs have been creatively placed to heighten the rock star feel.
The direction seems to be working in Gucci's favour as many celebrities have been seen in Gucci's new eyewear collection including High School Musicial Star, Ashley Tisdale. The 23 Year Old was seen wearing Gucci GG 3037 s aviator. It's a sturdy plastic aviator with glamorous gold studded temples. It's a very cool easy going pair that is recommended for those who want that extra BAM to their look.
Gwen Stefani is never one to shy away from bold styles. This week she was seen wearing a new pair of Gucci GG 3039 s. It is an oversized shield style that well definitely have you standing out.
Both Ashley Tisdale and Gwen Stefani's sunglasses can be purchased authentically at the professional sunglass site Otticanet for US $230.

Drew & Dresses

I'm not entirely sure what's going on with Drew Barrymore lately but she's been looking amazing beyond belief. Perhaps it's a new stylist or just the glow of getting back with on-off boyfriend Justin Long, either way, she was a knock-out in this asymmetric 60's striped Narcisco Rodriguez dress at Live with Regis and Kelly.
Kim Kardashian came out today to support Tori Spellings new "intellectually stimulating" guide to motherhood in Hollywood appropriately called Mommywood. Kim looked sweet in a Camilla and Marc Alabama dress in creme.
As Drew was out promoting her new television film Grey Gardens yesterday i was left speechless by her ensemble. She looked breathtaking in a Alberta Ferretti bead and sequin gown complete with a matching veil. This vintage nod is by far one of my favourite celebrity looks of recent time.

Belles in Chanel

If there is one thing women would want to covet in their life, it's Chanel. Perhaps a bag, a watch or a pair of interlocking double CC logo earrings. While these may be easier to get a hold of, a Chanel dress is not as easy. This season, Chanel's trademark black and white dresses were out in full force on many Hollywood talents including Kiera Knightley and Anne Hathaway. Kyra Sedgwick gets bonus points for choosing a classic Chanel vintage dress.

However, no matter how great a design house is, there is always that one special person out their who can make it tacky, so today ladies and gentlemen, i present Heidi Montag. Note to all: Chanel logo-loaded fingers nails are not a good look.

Eva Longoria at the Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Show

Earlier in the year the stars came out to view the Fall 2009 designer collections. Sitting front row Eva Longoria shone in a beautiful Matthew Williamson coat. I am in love with this multi-colored coat, it has such a regal appeal.

Kirsten Dunst at the Rodarte Show

Kirsten Dunst attended the Fall 2009 Rodarte Fashion show wearing a multi-colored knit dress from the designers Fall 2008 collection. Definitely not a dress that compliments everyones taste, but Kirsten Dunst wears it well and somehow makes it look ladylike.

Fashion Shows 2009: Nicole Richie

I know, i know, my blog has been neglected for a while, and so has my viewing of some of my other favourite blogs! I will certainly catch up on reading your blogs and leaving comments. Have just been so busy with going out, work, university, life in general....you know how it is. Anyways, now I'm back to my procrastinating ways thanks to sitting in front of the computer and "studying".
As we all know, the Fall 2009 fashion shows have landed and brought along with it a herd of celebrities in need of a photo opportunity. While the fashions of Paris and Milan are still stampeding down the runway, New York fashion week is well and truly over. Nicole Richie, however, is one celebrity that really grabs my interest when it comes to front row fashion. Last season she brought us great looks including an adorably sweet black and blue DKNY ensemble and this season it was just as great.

Last season, Nicole Richie teamed a simple white James Perse Supima tank top with a high waisted leather Marc Jacobs black leather skirt. Posing next to Kayne West, she added height with a pair of trendy Pierre Hardy gladiator sandals and added bling with a Stacey Lapidus headband.
This unique look brought forward the mass headband trend seen on celebrities such as Ashlee Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Vanessa Hudgens, Zoe Kravitz, Mischa Barton, Miley Cyrus and Mary-Kate Olsen.
Then we saw her sitting front row with Teen Vogue's Carlos Lopez, model Vanessa Trainer and Mary-Kate Olsen. She wore a Proenza Schouler vest dress over a James Perse white tank. Strappy Pierre Hardy sandals were once again her loyal shoe of choice. This season however, Nicole Richie let down that tightly tousled bun to show off her freshly cut bangs and went for a more classic approach. She amped up the color with a bright red Sonia Rykiel double breasted coat over a simple sequin shift dress and a pair of Yves Saint Laurent heels.
The Diesel Black Gold fashion show was the last place i would have expected Nicole Richie let alone Carine Roitfeld attend. Judging by Nicole's durem printed silk dress from the Black Gold Diesel collection, the brand seems to be producing some exceptional pieces.
Although i did love the fact that she blended the dress into her outfit instead of the obvious way of letting the dress do all the talking, i think she could have done without the white oversized sunglasses.
Nicole Richie teamed her US $500 + dress with tights, Pierre Hardy ankle boots, a Rick Owens Jacket and a celebrity must-have Love Quotes Scarf. Over the seasons, she has managed to keep her look young, fresh and slightly edgy which is where some Teeny Boopers like Miley Cyrus should take note.

Gwyneth & Beyonce are a Shoe in

Both Gwyneth and Beyonce were seen at the Unforgettable Evening event at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel earlier this week.

Gwyneth's outfit was top notch, teaming a pleated ivory Calvin Klein Dress with a matching shoulder sharp Balmain jacket. Sharp shoulder detailing on coats and jackets has become a massive trend on the international runways. Gwyneth also pumped up the excitement factor with a pair of feather detailed Roger Vivier shoes in hues of pink and yellow.

Diva-sensation, Beyonce Knowles kept it surprisingly simple (according to her standards), in a black Jean Paul Gaultier wool and crepe dress. She kept the bling to a minimum with light-reflective details lining her heels. However, Beyonce really made a statement with the beaded wooden necklace attached to the JPG dress.
The event was a Cancer Benefit, but fundraising and fashion seem to work hand in hand in Hollywood.

Lindsay Lohan: Bag hags love their Chanel Bags

Lindsay Lohan's pop star career and in-demand status may be long gone, but her black American Express credit card is still in full force.
Over the past few weeks, the sexy starlet has been selfishly parading a beautiful assortment of Chanel handbags, including the classic Chanel 2.55 to the new bag-in-a-bag style Portobello to more exclusive Resort Collection styles.
There are a lot of dumb things Lindsay has done in her life, but stocking up her wardrobe with classic Chanel bags definitely isn't one of them. Unlike Lindsay's relationships, a Chanel is forever.

Kim K in MM Margiela

Maison Martin Margiela Spring/Summer 2008 fashion show brought about a pair of chocolate bar wide sunglasses. The shield style although providing UV protection to most of the face with its broad linear form, should come with a warning label "only for wielding purposes". The bold frame is admired by many, worn by few.
But there's always one person in Hollywood who thinks they can pull off the quirky and crazy, and this time it Miss Kim Kardashian. Kim showcased her new Maison Martin Margiela sunglasses and i must admit she looks pretty darn good. Although it took a cocktail dress, stern hair bun, diamonds in her ears, a face full of make-up, the perfect side angle and a trout pout to pull them off, regardless, she makes them work.
I would definitely buy these cataract-operation sunglasses if i could work them half as well as Kim and the Margiela runway models.

Beanie Babies on the loose

Last winter, stylish attendees at Paris and Milan fashion week previewed this year's coolest winter trend, the beanie. The beanie has re-emerged as a fashion must-have on Hollywood's hottest heads.
With most trends, males take a back seat while women play the field, but the beanie has men playing the fashion field too. David Beckham, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Patterson, Zac Efron and the Bond himself Daniel Craig have all added a touch of cool with this casual head gear. Starlets including Vanessa Hudgens, Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton opted for floppy beanies that sit loosely on the head. Pairing the look with designer sunglasses and neutral shades makes the look understated yet chic.
While Rachel Bilson, Avril Lavigne and Jessica Alba covered up their bed hair with the praticality of a beanie, others chose to make a fashion statement. Gwen Stefani wore an emerald green beanie with scarlet red lips while Katie Holmes complimented her snow white beanie with a beautiful matching woollen sweater. Natalie Portman kept it classy with a classic grey trench coat and knockout turquoise beanie.
Never has the beanie reserved for skiing and winter activities looked so trendy as these Hollywood heads prove.

The Cats Walk on the Side Walk

The Emmanuelle Alt styled Nuits Fauves editorial in the August 2008 issue of Paris Vogue truly depicted the flavour of fashion week.

The women who run our highly influential fashion magazines and those women who are just influential regardless, have been seen of late wearing feline prints which were of mass popularity circa 2005.

This time around, however, it poses as a statement by the individual rather than a mass mindless trend. Vogue Nippon's Anna Dello Russo definitely made that statement in a tulle covered leopard print coat, while other fashion attendees opted for a touch of the wild with leopard print shoes, scarves and fur collars. No longer reserved for diva and tranny's alone, this is definitely a loud addition to a meek outfit.

Fashion Flashback- Jessica Simpson

Back in 2002 Jessica Simpson accompanied by her then-husband Nick Lachey, a Donna Karan Bag and a trendy trucker hat along the lines of Von Dutch, wore a t-shirt reading "Talentless But Connected". Never has a t-shirt rung more truth.

Angelina Jolie Little Black Closet

Before we start, let me start by saying that i do agree that black outfits are very chic. Simple, flattering and easy to put together. However seeing Angelina Jolie in black ensembles day after day for the last 2 years is making me wonder whether she is trying to cement this as her own unique look.

But seriously with a face that gorgeous and a body that could make cling-wrap look divine one should take advantage of their god given beauty and the variation the designer world as to offer.

Katie Holmes Balenciaga Bag

The bag that sprung up on Katie Holmes shoulder post-pregnancy caused quiet the frenzy in the handbag lovers world. The Balenciaga Vert Gazon Giant Day bag was the ideal day bag, (excuse the pun), to stash Suri's Barley water concoctions and fresh diapers for the Scientology cadet.

The luxurious green handbag which retails for over $1000 + was admired by many but worn so rarely by the Dawson's Creek graduate. However, the bag which was in hiding since 2007 has finally reared its pretty big gold hardware during Katie's frequent trips to her Broadway Performances and now serves entirely different purposes, one being, to make me green with envy.

Posh Peepers: Prada spr 18 I sunglasses

Sasha Pivovarova may not be the reigning queen of Prada anymore but she certainly went out with a bang in her final campaign for the brand. Her distinctive look and modeling prowess definitely had a lot of followers swooning over Prada's fantasy inspired tea-cup heels, hand painted fairy bags and flared pants with whimsical designs.
The dreamy collection also included a modern collection of sunglasses both fantasy and vintage inspired, which is a refreshing approach considering the safe and sporty shield styles Prada have been producing for the last few seasons. The new collection includes one stand out style, the Prada SPR 18 I Sunglasses. These sunglasses were modeled by Sasha Pivovarova and are commonly referred to as "Prada's Butterfly Sunglasses". Some people get the quirkiness of the sunglasses while others are still trying to figure out the appeal of having butterflies on their face.

Regardless, these oversized sunglasses have cracked out of their cocoon and onto the some of the most recognisable faces including Nicole Richie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Jessica Alba, Tori Spelling, Gwen Stefani, Rihanna, Michelle Tratchenberg and Paris Hilton.
These sunglasses come in two different width sizes to better fit your face, so if your daring enough to wear them or simply mesmerized by Prada's advertisement, you can purchase an authentic pair of these Prada spr 18 I sunglasses on Otticanet.com.

Leopards at the Zebra Crossing

Kate Moss has recently brought out her wild side favouring her bold Leopard print fur coat over demure style on various occasions. Animal print was brought to the forefront again last season with Balmain's collection of zebra stripes, raging red leopard print and golden snake coils. Emmanuelle Alt showed her support for the brand in a shoulder padded silver sequin and zebra print jacket.
While Kate Moss wore a pair of flared zebra pants to her daughters birthday party, a fashion week attendee took it a step further by literally wearing zebras on a grey jumpsuit which resembled a pair of pyjamas i owned as a child. For those of you who have a rack full of Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse inspired scarfs from a few seasons back now have an excuse to bring them back out.

Victoria Beckham: Dress Times Two

Last month Victoria Beckham was seen taking her sons to a Build-a-Bear store for a day of fun and bear building. While the rest of the mothering population would have probably chosen to wear a pair of jeans and a nice blouse for a day out with the kids, Victoria once again went a little OTT with her outfit by wearing pair of grey sky-high Marc Jacobs shoes adorned with gold bows, dVb 11 sunglasses, Giorgio Armani python bag, gold Rolex watch and a bright orange round neck summer dress.

This week Victoria was seen in a very similar get-up. Wearing an emerald green version of last month's orange mini dress. This time round she paired it with edgy Christian Louboutin ankle boots, black Roberto Cavalli 'Apple' bag, emerald dVb 2 drop arm sunglasses, gold Rolex watch and a charming BRC initial bracelet. BRC stands for her three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
Either way, the overall look of both outfits were pretty much the same- over the top, over matched and the perfect paparazzi magnet.

Celebrity Sunglasses: Katie Holmes Sunglasses

Working her way up the fashion icon ladder, Katie Holmes is proving to be the new face of low key glamour spruced up with first class designer brands. From her choice in Chloe bags and Chanel coats, it is no wonder she is the new one to watch.
Her choice of great sunglasses isn't lacking either. Mrs Katie Holmes-Cruise has been seen in an array of sunglasses recently, with oversized styles being a favourite. In New York, Katie has been shading herself from paparazzi flashes with a unique pair on Balenciaga Bal 00333/S sunglasses. These sunglasses are a plastic frame, with another metal frame wrapped around the top of the lenses which work their way out and act as the arms of the sunglasses. A hard style to pull off due to its narrower size, so definitely try before you buy.
This week Katie was seen wearing the new Dolce and Gabbana 2050 B sunglasses. These sunglasses are a large round rimless style with a refreshingly discreet Swarovski crystal DG logo on the sides, perfect if your after a vintage look.
The exclusive Oliver Peoples range has fast become popular with many celebrities and Katie is sporting the new Oliver Peoples Sofiane Sunglasses. These sunglasses are of the highest quality featuring suspended metal which gives off the illusion that the internal wire is floating. These sunglasses have also been seen on Tori Spelling, Claudia Schiffer, Christina Aguilera and Kate Beckinsale.
Lastly, Katie has been wearing the classically styled Michael Kors 526 sunglasses in dark navy. The sunglasses which were first made popular by Angelina Jolie and were later seen on Jennifer Garner and Jessica Alba and have finally made their way on this pretty face. These are beautifully crafted sunglasses with crocodile skin pattern arms and a small Michael Kors logo plate on the sides. Simple and truly beautiful.

Wide as wide can be

Although Skinny jeans have become somewhat of a staple, it seems that celebrities are pushing the calf cinching style to the back of their wardrobes for the time being.
Celebrities are bringing back 70's Flare and boyfriend style jeans as advocated by the catwalks. Ashley Tisdale was in Rome attending the 3rd Rome International Film festival wearing an on-trend blue floral tank top paired with a grey leather jacket and some refreshing wide leg pants.
Always the one to stay on top of the trend, Victoria Beckham launched her Fall 2008 DvB collection at Jade's in Dusseldorf Germany recently and added shape to her twig like frame with a pair of kicking flares.
Making one of her rare appearances, Jessica Biel, alongside Ashley Tisdale attended the 3rd Rome International Film Festival. She wore a smart silvery grey pant suit that was a nod to the man style trend. Her wide leg pants were perfect for hiding a pair of sky-high heels which made her look that much more statue-esque.
Lauren Conrad whose life revolves around filming her reality TV show, partying and shopping had the time to do a little outfit shopping for her recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. She rocked up wearing a nicely put together outfit which consisted of a white Yaya top, Mike&Chris leather jacket, Chanel bag and a Saks studded belt as seen on Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City movie. However her black bellowing trousers were the true statement as to the direction of womens wear for the next few seasons.

Ripped and Torn but Still Worn

While most of you are beginning to rug up in your cashmere sweaters and leather jackets, down under we can't take them off fast enough. Every summer, the staples are pulled out of our wardrobes, daisy dukes, chaotic print dresses and 70's inspired boho tops.
While Maxi dresses may have been a girly alternative for some, distressed denim shorts really stood out in the sunlight. Kate Moss has taken a shine to more vintage looks with light washed denim whilst on vacation at Ibiza.
A very buxom Scarlett Johansson was seen about town sporting what some have referred to as her mum shorts. Definitely not sexy but these high-waisted frayed shorts go perfectly with her quirky vintage style.Although these famous twins try to be as individual with their style as possible, you can't help but be influenced by those around you. Both Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen were seen indulging in a cancer stick or two outside their New York City apartment wearing frayed hem shorts with matching trilbys and oversized shirts.
Nicole Richie looked cute as a button wearing in her purple Indian boho shirt, Siwy denim shorts and black Moccasin Ankle Stomper boots. She topped off her look with oversized vintage sunglasses and Chanel bag.
Ashley Tisdale's recently wore home made cut-off shorts with the seasons must have plaid shirt and fringe gladiator sandals. She bought out the classics with a monogram Fendi Spy bag and Ray-Ban 3025 sunglasses.
Love her or hate her, Kirsten Dunst wears what she wants when she wants. The super rich 20-something-old was seen buying off the $5 Sale Rack at a local H&M store wearing a printed oversized t-shirt, black calf-length boots with a vintage bag and green Chanel wayfarer sunglasses.
We were lucky to see Victoria Beckham at least once this summer without being dressed to the nines. Showing off her fantastic pins in turn-up frayed shorts she paired them with an easy fit black t-shirt, large dVb aviator sunglasses, Haviana flip-flops and a leopard print Marc Jacobs tote.
Then we've got Mary-Kate Olsen doing what she does best, making some cringe and fashion magazines glee. She paired her cut-off shorts with a sheer black and white pussy bow shirt and flat knee high gladiator sandals. She accessorised with black bracelets, a Rosary bead necklace and Cutler and Gross sunglasses.

Latest Obsession: Katie Holmes Rehearsals

As she headed to rehearsals for her latest Broadway play All My Sons by Arthur Miller, Katie Holmes was under the watchful eye of many fashion critics. Many Anti-Scientologists ripped into her about her dress sense, way of life and style transformation.

I'm probably in the minority here, but i absolutely adored everything Katie Holmes wore as she headed in and out of the theatre doors to a paparazzi choca-block. Her distressed baggy jeans by PRPS Jeans with a starting price of $300, were ridiculed because they brought back the 80's peg-leg look.

I prefer Katie smartened up in her high-waisted, wide leg, J-Brand jeans with a casual t-shirt, cardigan and sky-high heels or skinny jeans with a well fitted blazer and metallic coated ballet flats.

Although her looks were kept simple, her handbags were top notch. The first photo shows Katie Holmes carrying around a Chloe Python Paratay bag which has also been seen on Mary-Kate Olsen. She has also been seen toting around a tan YSL Muse 2 bag, Hermes Kelly bag and Giorgio Armani oversized crocodile tote.

She has also been seen numerous times wearing the a crazy amount of high end sunglasses. She has been seen in Michael Kors 526 Crocodile sunglasses in dark navy (4th picture), also seen on Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Garner. Other sunglasses seen on Katie include Oliver Peoples Sofiane round sunglasses in Red Passion (3rd picture) and a few buckle temple classics by Roger Vivier (1st & 5th pic).

You may not agree, but all in all, she was understated and fabulous.

Girl put your Beanie on!

No longer reserved for family trips to the snow, the beanie is new cool kid in the hat department. The look which sprung off the well groomed heads of Paris and Milan fashion week attendees, saw it make its way on many catwalks, promininetly that of Alexander Wang.

Rachel Bilson has adopted the look by wearing her simple black beanie with a loose white tank, Chanel chain handbag, gold sandals and the celebirity favourite, Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses in tortoise shell.
Nicole Richie also looked super darn cool as she headed to Beverly Glen Country Mart for ice-cream with her man's brother, Benji Madden. She was L.A personified in her downtown city style.
Miss Richie wore distressed looking frayed 'Nicollette' shorts by Abercrombie and Fitch, teamed with a grey American Apparel t-shirt, laid back haviana flip flops and a studded vintage style belt. As with her fashion equal, Rachel Bilson, she too opted for Ray Ban sunglasses. Nicole Richie wears Ray Ban Large Metal Aviators. This is a look that is definitely going to be a staple for me this spring/summer in Australia.

Tie Dye, not dying down

The catwalks advocated and the celebrities reciprocated by wearing this seasons essential tie dye trend.
Tie dye has been flooding the floors of all our favourite high street stores and has become a summer staple. It's 60's, it's carefree and oh so cool.
Many stars have been seen rocking including Fergie, Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson and even Miss Sensibility Hayden Pannettiere got in on the trend and wore a loose lavender tank.

But as always, Nicole Richie made casual look captivating. As she strolled through New York City with baby Harlow, she wore a black, salmon, grey combination tank top with Abercrombie and Fitch 'Nicolette' distressed frayed denim shorts and classic Ray Ban Large Metal II RB 3026 gold frame sunglasses. The plaited belt and hair added to the hippie vibe. But nothing beats a chilled Starbucks and a gorgeous baby!
